WENATCHEE NATIONAL FOREST--A search for two missing Boy Scouts near Bumping Lake ends with both boys safe and sound.

Members of Yakima's Boy Scout Troop 200 were hiking near Camp Fife in the Wenatchee National Forest Wednesday night.  The two 16-year-old's got separated from the group around 11 p.m.

About a dozen people from Yakima County's Search and Rescue team, along with the rest of the scouts, searched the forest for the boys.

Around 1:00 p.m. Thursday searchers found the two teens on Nile Ridge trail, about 8 miles east of where they were last seen.

Sgt. Judd Towell of YSO's Search and Rescue team said these scouts used their training.

"They did a good job of keeping themselves out of trouble and out of harm's way," Towell said.  "They got to a place that looked like it was a trail to them and tracked down a sign that gave them a [trail] number."

From there, the boys used a cell phone to call a relative and tell them what trail they were on.

Fortunately, they were high up on the ridge by that point or they wouldn't have had a phone signal.

Despite being lost in the wilderness for about 15 hours, scout leaders say both boys are doing fine.
