On a cold Thursday night, Scouting Radio visited the group and we're very impressed with the setup of the Kildare group. 

The meeting started promptly at 7.15pm with Scouts in full uniform, followed by flag break and inspection. Eleanor the Group Scout Leader explained to us that they have a full uniform inspection every month. If the patrols pass their uniform inspection they were awarded their Class B hoodies which the patrols designed themselves and are very colourful each with their own patrol logo embroidered.

The patrols played a very energetic game of snatch the bacon followed by learning about ethics and the purpose of sharing and thinking of others during the festive season. The whole group will be taking part in the Simon Community Carol singing in Grafton Street later this month.

It came time for Scouting Radio to interview the Scouts. We learnt their favourite games, their trip to the Weston air field to learn about light aircrafts as part of their air adventure skills badge. The Scout group enjoyed a summer camp in Kandersteg last summer and our reporters heard of funny stories of Scouts leaving their bags accidently on the top of the Swiss mountains .... I bet that won't happen again!

Scouting Radio really enjoyed their visit to the group, where our reporter was presented with a group necker before travelling back to the studios. What a wonderful example of a group operating the new One Programme successfully with Scouting Ireland and living the Scouting Spirit!
