Scouting Radio is delighted to hear that Kandersteg International Scout Centre has joined our growing business and campsite network. Our campsite network consists of Scout & Guide campsites which promote our station at their camp, whether it be by flyers supporting Scouting Radio, selling of our badges in their Camp shop, or regular reports from their campsite to broadcast on Scouting Radio.
Known by Scouts as the permanent mini jamboree, the Centre began in 1923 with Lord Baden-Powell, who, after the first World Scout Jamboree, had a dream about a place where all Scouts from all over the world could meet.
This is Kandersteg International Scout Centre, in Switzerland. Scouting Radio have broadcast many events in collaboration with the International Scout Centre, most notably the Scouting Sunrise Ceremony where we linked up with our friends at Kandersteg who broadcast KJFM for the week of the Centenary Celebrations.
This year, Kandersteg International Scout Centre will be celebrating its 90th anniversary. Justin Dawson will be travelling to the centre in July to broadcasts the sites and sounds of Rover week.
Our page is now listed on the KISC website and we are looking forward to several visits to Switzerland in the coming years with our team.
