Scouting Radio have on the ground reporters covering the 2010 Austalian Jamboree known as AJ2010. We have teamed up with JNN 103.7 FM and Patrick Jackson the Deputy Director of the Official Jamboree Radio station and will be bringing you live reports from the actual campsite.AJ 2010 is being held at Cataract Scout Park, 71 KM South West of Sydney. and is staged from the 4th to the 14th of January. It is expected 10,000 Scouts and 3,400 Adult Leaders will atend the event with 8 Sub Camps. International Scouts from over 26 countries are attending including Aaron Wardle and Dominic Borrato, 2 of Scouting Radios live reporters at the Jamboree, originally from the Boy Scouts of America!
The camp will be made up of 1,500 six person tents, 10 internet cafes and 325 temporary structures which will stretch 160 hetares or the size of 160 football fields! This will be Australias 35th largest country town for 2 weeks!
Scouting Radio is there and we shall have all the latest news, audio, photos and videos from the campsite.
If that wasnt enough, the Boy Scouts of America have officially launched their centenail year in style. The Boy Scouts of America won the National Award on Friday for their spectacular float entry in the 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade in California. The National Award is presented to the float that has the best depiction of life in America, past, present or future. The float's theme was, "Celebrating the Adventure, Continuing the Journey". Friday's float was preceded by 300 Eagle Scout recipients proudly marching in the parade.
We shall be covering all the 2010 festivals and celebrations with Boy Scouts of America, with Keith Westergaard, Aaron Wardle, Dominic and the Scouting Radio USA Reporters ion Virginia.
