"Rovers are a Brotherhood of the Open Air and Service. They are Hikers on the Open Road and Campers of the woods, able to shift for themselves, but equally able and ready to be of some service to others"
Rover Scouting started in 1918, but it was not until the summer of 1931 that the first International Rover Moot was held in Switzerland with 3000 Rover Scouts from all over the world. In 2011, the B-PSA UK will host Rover Quest 2. At this International Rover Moot we will celebrate 80 years since the very first Moot and also over 40 years of Baden-Powell Scouts Association being formed.
The Moot costs willi include: Full catering, camping fee, transportation, all activities etc. It will not include costs for entering castles or such. Camping will be either indoors or camping which will depend on numbers.
During the week, participants will have access to a host of activities including canoeing, white water rafting, rifle shooting, archery, a swimming pool, rock climbing, as well as cultural visits to the local area.
Estimated at between £250.00/£300.00 for the total period including expeditions and visits.
The moot will Provisionally start on Sunday 21st August 2011 and finish on Saturday 27th August 2011. These dates are currently subject to confirmation, but arrangements for arriving early and leaving late shall be made (there will be an additional cost for doing so).
