In 2012, Scouts of Iceland will hold a National Jamboree to celebrate 100 years of Scouting in Iceland.

The camp will take place at Lake Úlfljótsvatn which is approx. 45 km from the capital city of Iceland, Reykjavík. Úlfljótsvatn Scout centre has been a centre for outdoors activities, leader training and summer camp for scouts and guides in Iceland, since 1941.

The campsite at Lake Ulfljotsvatn is one of the biggest and best equipped campsites in Iceland. The site can accommodate Jamborees and camps with up to 5000 scouts/guides. The site has over 25 WC in 4 toilets blocks and hot water showers in the main camping area. Drinking water is available by all toilet blocks.

There is a climbing and abseiling tower on the camp site. Fishing is good in the lake and we have canoes, kayaks, rowing boats and todays most popular boats are 4 persons pedal boats. The boats are available on a renting basis.

Registration for the Jamboree is now open. If you cant attend, dont worry, Scouting Radio will keep you up to date on all the news and information from the camp at www.scoutingradio.com
