Danita de Baat
is in change of Scouting Radio in our Nethelands studios
based in the small fisherman’s city Monnickendam nearby
the capital Amsterdam.
Monnickendam
is a city in the area called Waterland. This area is
famous for the wooden shoes, cheese and windmills.
Born in 1983,
Danita started her study journalism in 2002 in Ede (in
the centre of the Netherlands) at the Christelijke Hogeschool
Ede (in the centre of the Netherlands). She graduated
in 2006 with a degree in radio and television. She worked at trainee
posts for local, regional and national radio stations.
Danita became
a kabouter (brownie) in 1991 and since that day she
is active in Scouting. She was also a scout and padvindster
(guide) and later she became Sherpa (venture scout girls
and the boys are Rowans). In 1999 she went as a 15 year
old to the World Jamboree in Chile. After her Sherpa
time she stopped with scouting for a few years. After
her study she became a Scout Leader. And now
she is looking for a new group in her neighbourhood.
In 2007 she went as an International Service Member
(IST) to the World Jamboree in England. She worked there
for the community project Starburst.
